This store wanted a new way to let customers know what was going on in other departments. They had each sales associate wear a lanyard with printed custom inserts for their vinyl pouches to promote sales going on within other departments of the store. The Shoe Department employees featured an insert stating “Bed and Bath Clearance Sale”. Thursday’s all employees would feature inserts stating “Save an Extra 25% on Women’s Apparel this Saturday Only”. This was very successful because they could advertise without the salesperson having to verbally mention the sale.

This company sent a pre show mailer with a water bottle strap to all registered trade show attendees. The water bottle straps were all individually numbered. They were asked to bring them to the show for a bottle of water and to check for their number on the light board. They were featuring a new number every few hours and if your number matched, two spots on a cruise were given away. Their booth attendance was higher than ever, proving the promotion was a success. They also saw their water bottle straps being used at the trade show’s event, a visit to the local zoo.

This Credit Union gave away lip balm a local baseball game. They chose to imprint the flavor as “Guess the Flavor”. The lip balm flavor was Smores and everyone was asked to guess the 3 flavors in the lip balm. The eligible ones who guessed correctly were given a certificate for a discount on fees for their next loan or refinance. The Credit Union’s employees had customers emailing guesses for weeks!

After they revealed the sleeve was intended to hold a lip balm, they then gave out a Guess the Flavor Lip Balm for the reps to try to win prizes for successful guesses. This promotion was great because it created a fun atmosphere at the meeting and rewarded the sales reps at the same time.
